press & pr

We got into PR by mistake. As magazine editors, we occasionally used PR companies, but found that while they were great at hitting the phones, the writing of press releases often wasn’t up to scratch.

Writing was what we did best, of course – and we knew better than anyone what editors needed – so we wrote the material ourselves. We knew the contacts, too. Finally, we wondered why we didn’t just do it all. Our first independent PR job was for BAFTA-nominated composers Bob and Barn, whose efforts had proved unsuccessful. We reworked and resent their press release; next day, they secured print coverage and a radio interview.

In 2011 we were proud to be offered the opportunity to manage press and PR for Cambridge Film Festival. The fabulous opening night saw Gary Oldman, John Hurt, Tomas Alfredson and Peter Straughan and in attendance for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, which meant photo calls, press interviews, radio, and a live BBC TV interview, all fitted around a tight and extremely challenging schedule. In 2012, we’re back at the Cambridge Film Festival once again, as well as handling press and PR for the Olympic Torch Relay on behalf of Cambridge City Council.

Clients include:
Pepper Kitchens, Bob & Barn, Cambridge Film Festival, Cambridge City Council, Side UK.
